The Industrial Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) recently announced the appointment of their office bearers for the year 2016/2017at its 25th Annual General Meeting held at the JAIC Residencies. Dinesh Dharmadasa, Legal and External Affairs Director, Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC was elected as the Chairman of the Association for the ensuing year while.Rimoe Saldin, PolypakSecco (Pvt) Ltd was elected as the Senior Vice Chairman and Dushantha Ranaraja, Haycarb PLC as the Deputy Vice Chairman.

 
Deputy minister urges tripling of local exports

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Harsha de Silva, Chief Guest at the Annual General Meeting of the Industrial Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) held recently said imports of goods and services will not be stopped. He informed members present that, on the other hand, it was within their mandate to triple exports.

IASL calls on govt. to introduce FDI monitoring mechanism to protect local industries

A leading trade association in the country recently called on the government to introduce mechanisms to monitor foreign direct investments (FDIs) and international trade to make sure that there is no adverse impact on local industries. Industrial Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) Outgoing Chairman Nilam Jayasinghe who noted improvements in Sri Lanka's foreign policy in the past 18 months, said that the relationships should be capitalized to increase FDIs and trade, but also should protect local industries from them.

Address by Mr. Pravir Samarasinghe, Chairman, Industrial Association of Sri Lanka, AGM 2012

The Industrial Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) is the Apex body which represents industrial and manufacturing interests in Sri Lanka. The Association was formed in March 13, 1991 and has continued to represent a major sector of the manufacturing and industrial concerns in Sri Lanka. The current membership of the IASL constitutes of well-known industrial organisations in Sri Lanka.
